3rdPty (Byte 01, bit 4)
The third-party reserve option of the Reserve command allows an initiator to reserve a
unit or elements within a unit:
If the third-party (3rdPty) bit is zero, the third-party reserve option is not requested.
If the 3rdPty bit is one, the third-party reserve option is implemented.
Third Party Device ID (Byte 01, bits 3-1)
This field contains the SCSI ID of the unit, or element, which you wish to reserve.
Element (Byte 01, bit 0)
The library supports reservations at the element level. The valid settings for this bit are:
1 - A series of elements, identified by the Reservation Identification field, are to be
reserved. A minimum of 6 bytes must be sent by the initiator.
0 - Reserve the library.
Reservation Identification (Byte 02, bits 7-0)
This field contains a value established by the initiator to identify a specific reservation
request. If the Element field (Byte 01, Bit 0) is 0, this field is ignored and the entire library
is reserved for the initiator. If the field is 1, individual elements may be reserved with the
Element List Descriptors.
Element List Length (Bytes 03 - 04)
This is the length in bytes of the Element List Descriptors that follow this command. The
valid values for this field are 6 and increments of 6. If the Element field is 0, this field is
ignored.
