  • Page 11 5. Using the appropriate screwdriver, loosen the screws just enough to move the gate out of the way from the robotic rack assembly (Figure 11). Some Spectra 12K libraries have three screws in the gate, and some units will not have any screws in the gate.
  • Page 12 6. Unplug the 25-wire black connector at the bottom front of the robotic rack assembly (Figure 12). Figure 12 The 25-wire black connector (Spectra 20K library shown). 7. Spectra 20K libraries only—using the flat head screwdriver, remove the three cone head screws that hold the robotic rack to the drive slot assembly (Figure 13).
  • Page 13 8. Using the #2 Phillips screwdriver, remove the screws that hold the robotic rack assembly to the chassis: first the top, then the bottom (Figure 14). Note: Some Spectra 12K library models have only four screws attaching the robotic rack to the chassis. Figure 15 The robotic rack assembly is moved outward (Spectra 20K library shown). 10. From the side of the robotic rack assembly, carefully remove the robotic rack assembly from the library (Figure 16).

Insert Shipping Pins 1. Gently raise the transport tray to the top of the rack. 2. While holding the transport tray, use the large flat head screwdriver to completely insert two shipping pins in the front of the rack (Figure 17). Figure 17 The front shipping pins.
  • Page 16: Package The Picker For Shipping

Package the Picker for Shipping 1. Make sure that the picker is at the front of the robotic rack, with the bar code scanner facing the rear of the robotic rack. 2. Insert one piece of foam at the top of the picker head, and one piece of foam on each side of the gripper (Figure 19).
  • Page 17 3. Prepare the picker strap by looping one side of the strap through one side of the buckle and then snapping the first half of the buckle shut (Figure 20). Figure 20 The picker strap with the buckle. 4. Wrap the strap around the picker and robotic rack assembly, as shown in Figure 19.
  • Page 18 Library Packing Guide 6. Once the strap is attached, pull the ends of the strap tight (Figure 22). Figure 22 The completed picker strap. 7. Proceed to Replace the Robotic Rack Assembly on page 19.
  • Page 19: Replace The Robotic Rack Assembly

Replace the Robotic Rack Assembly 1. Rest the robotic rack assembly on the bottom of the library so it is centered in the opening. Then, tilt the rack up so it is aligned with the top of the opening. 2. Push the robotic rack assembly back in. 3.
