(2) Bin unit
1) Composition of bin unit
The bin unit has the composition shown below.
Rollers are provided at both sides of each bin, at the
outer sides of bin frame.
The bin unit is hung from the sorter with two springs
as shown below and fixed with lead cams engaged
with the rollers fitted to the front and rear side of bin
frame.

Weight of bin unit is about 17 kg. Two springs are
used to hand the bin unit, reducing the load applied to
the lead cams.

2) Function of lead cam
The lead cam engages with the roller of bin unit. The
lead cam is driven by the bin shift motor (M9) which is
reversible.When the lead cam is rotated and the roller

Drive belt
moves up and down along the slope of lead cam, the
bin connected to the bin frame and rollers is moved up
and down.

However, if the lead cam groove is tilted in the whole
range, the lead cam rotates under the influence of
weight of bin unit when the bin stops. So as to
prevent this rotation, the lead cam groove has the
horizontal part as shown in the figure below. When
the bin unit stops, the lead cam position sensor (PI20)
detects the position so that the roller is located on the
horizontal part.
The lead cam center position sensor (PI21) is
provided to detect the center position of horizontal
part of lead cam. It is used to synchronize with the
stapling operation and to ensure smooth stapling.
