(3) Stapler unit direction change control
1) Outline
The direction of stapler unit is changed according to
the stapling method to be applied.
The stapler unit can have the two directions shown
below.
The direction of stapler unit is changed by using the
direction change lever when the stapler unit moves
toward the rear side.
The direction of stapler unit is tilted by 45˚ with
respect to paper when it is in its home position. When
it moves for about 100 mm toward the rear side from
its home position, it is set parallel with the paper.

The stapler unit is fixed by the position fixing pawl in
specific position. The position fixing pawl is released
by the position fixing pawl releasing solenoid (SL2).
The stapler direction sensor (S1) is provided to detect
direction of stapler unit.
