[6] Diagnostics
The dip switches (DIP SW1) provided on the sorter controller PWB afford the following diagnostic functions. Setting
of dip switches can be changed while the power switch of copying machine is on.

• To set the normal copy mode, set all the dip switches to
OFF.
• When the STAPLING START/STOP key is pressed, the
transfer motor (MI) rotates forward (paper transfer
direction). To stop it, press again the STAPLING
START/STOP key.
• When the FRONT ACCESS key is pressed, the transfer
motor (MI) is reversed to raise the transfer guide, and
then it stops. When the FRONT ACCESS key is
pressed again, the transfer motor is reversed to return
the transfer guide to its home position, and then it stops.
• When the FRONT ACCESS key is pressed, the staple
sorting is repeated sequentially. When the FRONT
ACCESS key is pressed again, it stops.
When the dip switch is set to SWITCH CHECK MODE,
the manual corner stapling display lights.
• While the POSITION SELECTION key is held down, the
manual corner stapling display goes out, and the
manual double stapling display lights.
• While the STAPLING START/STOP key is held down,
the manual corner stapling display goes out, and the
manual single stapling display lights.
• While the BIN UP key is held down, the manual corner
stapling display goes out, and the hand-inserted corner
stapling display lights.
• While the DOWN key is held down, the manual corner
stapling display goes out, and the hand-inserted double
stapling display lights.
• While the FRONT ACCESS key is held down, the
manual corner stapling display goes out, and the staple
replenishment display lights.
