G Stapler unit rocking motor error
Causes/Defective parts
Step
Circuit breaker

Check that the circuit breaker (CB1) provided on
the sorter controller PWB is operative.
24V power

Set the tester to the 50VDC range. Check that
supply failure
voltage between J1-4(+) and J1-3(-) provided on
the sorter controller PWB is about 24V.

Check that voltage between J2-2(+) and J2-1(-)
provided on the sorter controller PWB is about
24V.
Stapler unit

Check that pulse output is obtained at the
rocking motor
connectors J16-5 to 8 provided on the sorter
(M4)
controller PWB with stapler unit rocking motor
operation timing. Check also that +24V is
obtained on J16-3,4.

Set the tester to the 10VDC range.

Check that voltage between J6-14(+) and J6-
clock sensor
13(-) provided on the sorter controller PWB
(P18)
changes alternately to 0V and 5V when the
stapler unit rocking motor is turned by hand.

Set the tester to the 10VDC range. Check
rocking motor
whether voltage between J6-11(+) and J6-10(-)
home position
provided on the sorter controller PWB is about
sensor (P19)
5V when the stapler unit rocking motor home
position sensor (PI9) is shielded or about 0 V

when the sensor is not shielded.

motor.
