b. Operation
he microcomputer (Q1) provided on the sorter
controller PWB receives instructions of staple mode
from the copying machine. The microcomputer (Q1)
sends the drive pulses (SWGMA, SWGMA*, SWGMB,
SWGMB*)
and the reference current signal
(SWGMAJ) to the motor driver circuit.
The motor driver circuit drives the stapler unit shift
motor (M4) according to the signals.
When the stapler unit rocking motor (M4) is in HOLD
state, the output timing of pulse signals A, A*, B, B* is
fixed, and the level of reference current signal
(SWGMAJ) is changed for HOLD.
The reference current signal (SWGMAJ) is set to "1"
only when the stapling enable signal (STPEBL) is
generated and sent to the motor driver. When the
reference current signal (SWGMAJ) is set to "0", the
stapler unit rocking motor (M4) is not driven.
(6) Smooth stapling
1) Outline
The former stapling operation has been designed so
that the shift of bin unit was stopped during rocking of
stapler.
The machine of new model enabling smooth stapling is
designed so that the stapler rocking is synchronized with
the bin unit shift so as to reduce stapling operation time.
As a result the stapling time is reduced by 30% as
compared to the former model.
The smooth stapling is enabled in the following
conditions.
a. In case of auto-stapling or manual stapling the
number of bins for stapling must be 2 or more.
