Installing the Agilent 816x
Instrument Driver
The Agilent 816x VXIplug&play Instrument Driver comes as a self-
extracting archive with an installation wizard. The installation wizard
extracts all the files to preset destinations, asking you appropriate
questions as it does so.
You install the driver by running the executable hp816x.exe.
1 Run hp816x.exe, you see a Welcome screen telling you that the
Agilent 816x VXIplug&play Instrument Driver will be installed and the
instruments that support the driver.
2 Press Next> to continue.
If you are not an administrator, you see a VXIplug&play window, and
a message telling you that if you proceed with the installation, some
information will NOT be visible to all users. This means that any
program menu options will only be available to the user that
performed the installation. If you are the administrator all program
menu options will be visible for all users.
If you see the message in Figure 8, press Yes to install the driver or
press No and contact your administrator.

N O T E If Agilent 816x VXIplug&play Instrument Driver is already installed on
your system, you see a message asking you if you want to uninstall the
old version.
Press Yes, if required, then wait until you see a message telling you that
the uninstall has been successful. You may be asked for permission to
remove shared files.
Then press Yes to continue.
