4. Select the COM port the receiver is connected to (Figure 17). Click Connect.
In the Connecting to device dialog window select the following:
• To set up the UHF modem select ON in the Radio drop-down list box, then click Apply and
Connect Radio.
• To set up the GSM module select Slave, Master or GPRS in the GSM drop-down list box, then
click Apply and Connect GSM.
• Slave for base receiver;
• Master for rover receiver;
• GPRS for set up General Packet Radio Services (GPRS) and connect receiver to Internet.
Configuring the Internal UHF modem
Note:
To comply with RF exposure requirements, maintain at least 20 cm between the user and the UHF
modem.
1. On the Radio Link tab, set the following parameters (Table 2) and click Apply (Figure 18 on
page 34).

Base Receiver
Select the Simplex Transmitter protocol
For both Base and Rover receivers the protocol type must be the same.
Set the frequency in band 403-470 MHz with 6.25 kHz channel spacing.
For both Base and Rover receivers the frequency must be the same.
Select the transmission power for the radio modem. n/a
Specifies a modulation scheme that will be used by your modem.
DQPSK is recommended.
For both Base and Rover receivers the modulation type must be the same.
The link rate is selected automatically
For both Base and Rover receivers the link space must be the same.
