6.5.2 PROFIsafe System
The drive can communicate with safety PLC via PROFINET. The exchanged data includes safety-related data and non-safe process
data. For safety-related data, it goes through PROFIsafe frame and matches PROFIdrive format.
The drive supports PROFIsafe V2.4 and V2.6. V2.6 is forward compatible with V2.4. To provide maximum flexibility and convenience,
the GSD file contains 4 modules. Select 1 of the following modules according to the requirement to set up communication between
the PLC and drive.
PROFIsafe_1: PROFIsafe V2.4, 3 octets CRC checksum, F_iPar_CRC checking is disabled.
PROFIsafe_2: PROFIsafe V2.4, 3 octets CRC checksum, F_iPar_CRC checking is enabled.
PROFIsafe_1: PROFIsafe V2.6, 4 octets CRC checksum, F_iPar_CRC checking is disabled.
PROFIsafe_2: PROFIsafe V2.6, 4 octets CRC checksum, F_iPar_CRC checking is enabled.
6.5.2.1 The PROFIsafe Frame
The PROFIsafe frame, which is exchanged between the safety PLC (F-host) and the safety follower (F-device), includes:
Safety I/O data (F-I/O), which is used to control the drive safety process.
A status/control byte, which is used for the PROFIsafe communication.
A CRC signature, which ensures the validity of the frame.

To indicate, monitor, and set the safety status of the F-device, see the status and control bytes descriptions in the following tables.
For more details, refer to PROFIsafe – Profile for Safety Technology on PROFIBUS DP and PROFINET IO Technical Specification.
