6.13 Declarations and Certifications
According to the requirements set out in the PI document PROFIsafe - Test Specification Order No.: 2.242, chapter 6 Manufacturer obli-
gations, the PROFIsafe device is designed and has been verified also to fulfill the following properties:
• Each time the CRC2 calculation results in 0, the result is set to 1. This rule is described in IEC 61784-3-3 ed.3, chapter 3.3 Conven-
tions.
• The PROFIsafe watchdog is only retriggered when changing the (virtual) consecutive number. This rule is described in IEC
61784-3-3 ed.3, Table 11: statements restart device-timer.
• Transfer failsafe values at the first 3 PROFIsafe telegram cycles to the PROFIsafe Device physical output signal independently of
the user data from the F-Host. This rule is described in IEC 61784-3-3 ed.3, Table 10: Transition T27: statement if ok_nr_cycles <4,
then use FVo, FV_activated =1.
• The reception of zero-telegrams is ignored. If a zero-telegram (all values are 0) is received, the PROFIsafe watchdog continues to
run to make sure possible timeouts can be recognized. This rule is described in IEC 61784-3-3 ed.3, Table 10: statement ignore
safety PDU with all values = 0.
The PROFIsafe implementation has been verified by code inspections and module tests for these properties. The verifications and
inspections have shown the functional correctness.
