To set up the connection the IP address of the instrument is required. It is part of the
resource string used by the program to identify and control the instrument. The
resource string has the form:
TCPIP::‹IP_address›::INST
Example: If the instrument has the IP address 192.1.2.3; the valid resource string is:
TCPIP::192.1.2.3::INST
High-Speed LAN Instrument Protocol (HiSLIP) is a TCP/IP-based protocol for remote
instrument control of LAN-based test and measurement instruments. It was specified
by the IVI Foundation and is intended to replace the older VXI-11 protocol. To start
remote control session with HiSLIP, the valid resource string is:
TCPIP::192.1.2.3::HISLIP
The end character must be set to line feed (LF).
[Remote] key
Access:
1. Press [Remote] key to unlock the instrument from the remote control mode.
In the remotes mode, all front panel keys on the instrument are disabled and the
[Remote] key is illuminated.
2. To switch back to the local mode, press [Remote] key to release the remote control
mode.
