9.2.4.2 Soft Button Function
We have previously described the controller's five "soft" buttons. During MIG
welding, the user has the possibility of setting the function for three of these buttons
based on a number of given options.
Of the five soft buttons, the three buttons farthest to the left can be assigned a
certain function.
The following options are available:
Gas purge
S
Wire feed
S
Switch 2--stroke/4--stroke
S
Crater fill ON/OFF
S
Creep start ON/OFF
S
Hot start ON/OFF
S
Trigger weld--data switch ON/OFF

To assign one of these functions to a soft button, see the following instructions.
The following screen appears in the character display. There are two columns in this
picture; one for function and one for button number. The numbers 1, 2 and 3 each
represent their own button, i.e. the button farthest to the left is number 1, etc.
We will assign button number 1 the function CRATER FILL ON/OFF in the following
example.
