6-4. OPS Assembly Adjustment

6-4-1. Electrical Alignment Overview

This adjustment is for matching the OPS glass movement
to the readings taken by the capacitive sensors located in
the gate assembly. When this adjustment is done correctly,
the system will be able to optically position the picture
image to the perforation location even if the film is miss-
parked in the gate. There are two separate glass movement
systems (one for Vertical and the other for Horizontal
position).
Required Tools and Equipment
1. Phillips Screw Driver.
2. Slot Screw Driver of removing gate.
3. Oscilloscope with two probe.
4. Film with curl
5. Film of some length to run for steadiness.
6. Small adjusting tool for RVs on gate and OPS assy.
7. HD Picture Monitor.
8. PC with Hyper Terminal.
9. Connection cable for PC: J-6516-010-A

6-4-2. Setup Prior to Adjustments

Prior to making any adjustments of the OPS system, you
must reposition the SV-186 OPS servo board to where the
test points and connection cable for PC are accessible.

1. Turn power off on the system.
2. Remove the top rear back panel from the system.
3. Remove the two screws that is hold the SV-186 board
to the thick metal back plate.
4. Pull-out the SV-186 board along the guide rail.
5. Connect connection cable for PC from PC com1 port
to SV186 board CN501 connector. (Refer to picture
for board lay out.)
Set the PC to Hyper Terminal and set the properties as
follows.
