6-4. OPS Assembly Adjustment

6-4-3. OPS Checks and Adjustments

1. System wake up and software version
A. Connect the PC to the OPS serial communication port
using PC program Hyper Terminal. Turn on the
Power. Verify the OPS CPU sends to following
information during the wake up. Note the Software
version, time, date, and film gate may be different due
to the version of code that is running on the system.

B. To get the software version type "ver" then return or
enter. The system should respond with the following
message. Note the software may be of a different
version and date due to the software versioning up. In
this example the software version is 01.01.07.11 and
generated on September 1 st , 1999 at 16:26.

2. Verification and Adjustment of the Gate
Output
Before adjust gate card (SE-516 or SE517), OPS must be
turned OFF from control panel. After the adjustments,
make sure the OPS is ON
(1) 35 mm Gate (SE-516 board)
A. Thread a film (with curl) (emulsion side up) on the
Telecine, put the system into play mode to make the
following measurements while the film is moving.
B. Look at the following TP102 and TP202 on the SV-
186 card. First play the film and note the Vpp voltage
of each signal. Then replace the film with the emulsion
side down. Play the same area of the film and note the
Vpp voltages of the signals.
C. After noting the voltages of each TP with the film curl
up and down, adjust complement sensor by the RV340
and RV440 located on SE-516 so the Vpp is the same
with the emulation side up as down. The TPs may
have a slightly different voltage (See Table 1 and
Table 2).
D. Look at TP101 and TP201 (horizontal film position
error signal) and check each signal (while running
film). These Test Points should be +2.5 V DC (See
figure 1). If the signals measured at these TPs are
different from the specification, then an adjustment
needs to be made. Adjust RV501 (for side T) and
RV601 (for side S) to satisfy the specification.
E. Look at TP102 and TP202 (Vertical film position error
signal) and check each signal (while running film).
These Test Points should be +2.5 V DC center of Vpp
and sine waves at 4.0 Vpp (See figure 1). If the signals
measured at these TPs are different from the specifica-
tions, then an adjustment needs to be made.
Adjust RV500 (for side T, offset), RV502 (for side T,
gain), RV600 (for side S, offset) and RV602 (for side
S, gain) to satisfy the specification.
