5.10.7 - SOLENOID VALVES

SOLENOID VALVE
HOW THE VALVES OPERATE
• WHEN OPEN (fi g.1) :
◊ needle A is lifted from its seating by
electro-magnet B.
• WHEN CLOSED (fi g.2) :
◊ needle A is maintained in position
on its seating by means of spring C.
DISASSEMBLY- REASSEMBLY
• DISASSEMBLY coil-core (fi g.3) :
◊ Remove the black cap A, unscrew screw B
◊ Remove lid D.
◊ To gain access to the core ; unscrew 2nd nut B from the
threaded rod, remove the two bolts E and remove the coil.
• REASSEMBLy :
◊ Proceed in reverse order.
• SEATING of ELECTRO-MAGNET:
◊ The needle guide screw A (fi g.4) should not be
tight, else reduce the outer diameter of guide screw at
with Emery paper.
• WATERTIGHTNESS of NEEDLE on its SEATING :
◊ Check condition of both conical head of needle and
of seating ( fi g.4: point C)
◊ Check that there is play between base of needle
and the top guide screw at D (fi g.4).
ROUTINE SERVICING OF ELECTRO-MAGNET :
Make sure that the coil slides easily on the core (the core should be able to freely turn 360°)
; if not, two causes are possible :
• The core is dirty (perhaps rusty) : clean (if rusty, use oily abrasive paper N°180) ; spray on a
fi lm of antioxidant product.
• The core is clean : the coiling is deformed : replace the coil. Use key N°95035 (fi g.6).
ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS :
• Never bend the electro-magnet terminals (fi g. 5)
• Grease the connections.
TERMINAL CONNECTIONS :
Scrupulously follow the connection indications for the inlet and outlet of the liquid as
shown with arrow F (fi g.3).
