– COMMISSIONING THE MACHINE –
4.1.3 - RECEIPT CHECK
Check that the machine supplied is the same as that on the order form.
4.2 - COMMISSIONING
For machine commissioning, perform the following operations by referring to the corresponding paragraphs.
• On towed machines:
◊ Check tyre pressure.
◊ Adjust the tyre track if necessary.
◊ Check wheel nut tightness.
• Hitch up the machine and fit and adjust the drive shaft for length
operation under the responsibility of the
• Perform the necessary adaptation work (installing sensors, etc.).
• Connect the supply lines (electric, hydraulic, brakes).
• Perform all of the other operations described in this chapter (depending on the machine).
• Rinse the tank and perform a spraying test.
4.2.1 - ENVIRONMENT
To adapt the machine to the tractor and load, the machine must be placed on a surface that is flat, horizontal and
hard.
4.2.2 - CHECKING THE REQUIRED CHARACTERISTICS OF THE TRACTOR
DANGER
A tractor that is not suitable can create risks of instability when loaded, handling and
insufficient braking problems, as well as risks of breakages.
• Check that the tractor meets the required standards.
• Carry out a braking test to ensure that the tractor provides the statutory deceleration power
even with the machine coupled/carried.
The requirements for the tractor concern in particular:
• The authorised weight
• The authorised loads per axle
• The authorised thrust load at the hitching point of the tractor
• The admissible load capacities of the tyres fitted
• The authorised hitching load is sufficient
This information can be found on the data plate or on the vehicle registration papers and in the instructions for
the tractor.
• The front tractor axle must support at least 20% of the tractor's empty weight.
• The tractor must provide the deceleration (braking) power specified by the manufacturer, with the machine
hitched or loaded.
• The tractor must be equipped with a PTO at the rear of 1"3/8 (34.9 mm) with 6 splines (or 8 splines
depending on the country) operating at a nominal speed of 540 rpm.
