5.3 - DRIVE SHAFT
The wide angle drive shaft transmits the force between the tractor and the machine.
IMPORTANT
Please read the paragraph
"Power take offs and drive shafts" in chapter GENERAL SAFETY
ATTENTION
Respect the direction of assembly of
the drive shaft
5.3.1 - ASSEMBLING THE DRIVE SHAFT ONTO THE MACHINE.
Jaw coupling:
► Fit the splined jaw directly onto the pump shaft until it locks.
5.3.2 - COUPLING THE DRIVE SHAFT
WARNING
Risk of crushing and impacts due to a lack of space between the tractor and the machine
when coupling the drive shaft!
Connect the drive shaft before coupling the machine to the tractor.
1. Move the tractor back to leave around 25 cm between the tractor and the machine.
2. Immobilise the tractor to avoid any accidental movements.
3. Check that the tractor PTO is disengaged.
4. Clean and grease the tractor PTO.
5. Move the drive shaft closing system onto the tractor's PTO, until it clicks into place.
6. Fit the retaining chain(s) to prevent the shaft guard from turning.
◊ Ensure that sufficient clearance is available at all times for the drive shaft.
◊ The chains must be practically at right angles with the drive shaft.
