When the system determines that the
driver needs to manually decelerate the
vehicle while the adaptive cruise control is
operating, the "Brake!" warning message is
displayed on the multi-information display
(MID) and a buzzer sounds. At the same
time, the forward collision warning light
flashes on the head-up display.
The approach warning activates when
the system determines that the automatic
brake cannot decelerate the vehicle
sufficiently to maintain the appropriate inter-
vehicular distance. Decelerate the vehicle
by depressing the brake pedal to keep the
appropriate inter-vehicular distance.
