Cause
The line beam is out of the
measurement range.
The reflected beam from the
line beam is blocked by
something.
The reflected beam has
directionality because the
surface of the object is
hairline-finished.
The received light intensity
is insufficient because the
unit detection time is too
short.
Mirrored surface or
transparent object is
measured.
When the mask function
with tracking is used, is the
edge of the measurement
target included in the edge
detection range? Is the
shape of the measurement
target included in the
reference value
measurement area?
Is the laser control and
external trigger input
overlapped in the external
synchronous mode?
Sensor head is not installed
correctly.
Continuous measurement is in
stop.

Chapter 7 Troubleshooting
Corrective Action
Move the measurement
object so beam projection
spot come within the
measurement range to light
up or blink the measurement
range indicator on the
sensor head.
Move the position of the line
beam or change the
mounting direction of the
sensor head so the reflected
beam should not be blocked.
Check the mounting
direction of sensor head.
Set a longer unit detection
time.
In the case of a mirror
reflective object, install a
mirror reflector, and set the
mirror reflector coefficient.
Check the area settings of the
detected light intensity
image, and the mask function
settings. Change the setting
so that the shape of the
measurement target is
included in the detection
area.
The timing of the laser
control (including the
external input, USB control,
RS232C control) and the
external trigger input are too
close, leave more time
between.
Check the measurement
range and install the head
correctly.
The measurement range
indicator does not operate
when the continuous
measurement is in stop. Start
measurement.
