Removing and cleaning the extruder auger and filter

WARNING!
E0004P
- This operation should be performed with the extruder at operating temperature as, when it is cold, it is impossible
to remove the parts because of the hardened plastic.
- Observe the precautions given in the SAFETY EQUIPMENT AND PRECAUTIONS chapter, "HAZARDS
PRESENT IN THE HEATING SYSTEM" paragraph and always use adequate safety gear to prevent being burnt.
- Never remove the extrusion die if electricity is supplied to the heating elements.
- Always shut off the electricity supply before working on the extruder. To do this, turn the main switch on the motor
control cabinet to off and lock it in its open position with a pad lock. Remove the pad lock key.
- Remove the extruder from its base and turn it so that the extrusion die and auger can be easily removed.
- Remove the guards in front of the extruder.
- Loosen the screws (1 and 7) and turn the ring nut (2) so that the nozzle (3) is approx. 1 mm lower than the cutter (4).
- Take off the support plate (5) by removing the screws (6 & 7).
- Remove the screws (8). The front part of the extruder is now detached from the base.
- Move the extruder completely back so that the nozzle (3) can be taken off the insertion drum (4).
- Disconnect the quick couplings (18) from the air cylinder (13).
- Remove the three screws which hold the motor mounting plate (19) to the machine base.
