Wireless Modem overview
The wireless modem is an optional device used to
automatically transfer your treatment data at the end of
each treatment to the Fresenius Medical Care hosted FTP
server. The modem connects to the RS-232 port on the
back of your cycler. Depending on your cycler, the RS-232
port is either sticking out with a cap covering it, or is
mounted flush with the cycler casing. Your PD nurse will
provide you with a wireless modem if needed.
Data Security
The data files transferred via the external cellular modem
contain only the treatment and patient information collected
and stored within the Liberty Select Cycler. The data is
encrypted with a key-based encryption. Encrypted data
cannot be read without reapplying the encryption
algorithm, or 'key', thereby ensuring the security of the
data.
Liberty Select Cycler User's Guide
Note: The modem is not in use during treatment.
Note: Your cycler does not receive any inputs or

Note: Do not modify the modem provided to you
by Fresenius Medical Care.
Note: Do not connect or disconnect the modem
from your cycler when the cycler is powered on.
