30 Use aseptic technique to connect yourself

To connect to your cycler:
Mask, then wash your hands or use hand sanitizer as
directed by your PD nurse
Insert your catheter extension set into the right notch of
the stay•safe Organizer to remove the cap
Remove the clear cap from the stay•safe PIN connector
Connect your catheter extension set to the stay•safe PIN
connector on the patient line (blue clamp)
31 Open the patient line (blue clamp) and your catheter
extension set clamp
32 Touch Next
Press the Next button to begin your prescribed exchanges.

Warning: You must use aseptic technique
to prevent infection. Keep your mask on
until you have finished connecting.
Warning: Use a new, sterile PIN connector
each time you connect.
Note: You may remove the PIN connector from the
stay•safe Organizer after your connection is
completed to allow more freedom of movement
during the treatment.
Note: Be careful not to push in the blue button on
the PIN connector until prompted by the cycler
(after a treatment or when interrupting/ pause a
treatment).
If you push in the blue button before prompted by
the cycler, the PIN releases and will prevent fluid
from moving through the tubing, which can cause
an alarm.
Warning: If you turn off your cycler after
you have filled the abdomen, when you
restart your cycler you MUST NOT bypass
Drain 0. It could result in an overfill.
