Non-Store Displays
Magnified Sweep Display
With the 2212 in the normal (continuous) mode, you can use the
following procedure to display the signal in the Xl0 or X50 Hori-
zontal Magnifier position:
Step
1.
Switch the 2212 on and obtain a baseline display in Non-
Store mode.
Step 2.
Set the SEC/DIV switch for a sweep speed that permits
the area you want to magnify to be displayed.
Step 3.
Adjust the Horizontal POSITION control for precise posi-
tioning of the area to be magnified to the center crt
graticule division.
The actual magnified portion on either side of the center
graticule line is equal to +/- 0.5 division in XlO Magnify
and +/-0.1 division in the X50 Magnify. You may change
the SEC/DIV switch setting as required.
Step 4.
Set the Horizontal Magnify switch to the Xl0 or the X50
position.
Step 5.
The magnified sweep rate is displayed in the crt readout.
Alternating Magnified
Sweep Display
With the 2212 in the normal (continuous) mode, you can use the
following procedure to display the unmagnified sweep and the
magnified sweep on the crt sreen alternately.
Step
1.
Preset the instrument as stated in Magnified Sweep Dis-
play.
Step 2.
Toggle the the Alternate Magnify (ALT MAGN) switch to
on (the ALT MAG LED lights).
Step 3.
Adjust the CHl POSTION control (and/or CH2 POSI-
TION, if selected) and the Trace SEParation control as
required to display the unmagnified and the magnified
sweeps.
Step
4.
The unmagnified sweep rate is displayed in the crt
readout.
