Serial Communications (RS-232-C) Interface Connector
(Option 12)
The Serial Communications Interface provides an RS-232-C
communications interface connection meeting the
EIA RS-232-C standard for data terminal equipment. To oper-
ate the interface use the following procedure:
Step
1.
Connect a RS-232-C cable to the 25-pin male Sub-D
connector (see Table 5-5)on the 2212.
Step 2.
Select settings of the serial interface (RS-232-C) in the
MENU display (see Figure 5-8a).
With Option 12 installed, the instrument is fully remote
programmable. Connections for signal ground and shield ground
are also provided for grounding between the instrument and an
external device.
Table 5-5 lists the function of each pin of the RS-232-C DTE port
(male).
