Digital Storage
Measurement
Examples
The following measurement examples will enable you to perform
basic measurements with digital-storage techniques.
Waveform Comparison Measurement.
Rise time Measurement.
The Non-Storage measurements, except the Time RATIO and the
PHASE measurement (there is no Variable SEC/DIV function in
Store Mode) may be performed in Store mode as well.
However, if you are not familiar with acquiring a signal in digital
storage, you should review the previous information on digital stor-
age displays in Section 2: Digital Storage Displays.
The 2212 can make accurate timing measurements when the ~T
Cursors are enabled in Store mode. In this mode the cursors are
"attached" to the waveform (Waveform-Based Cursors). This feature
can prove especially useful with signals which require a SEC/DIV
setting of< 20 µs.
NOTE
When switching from NON-Store to Store the resolution of
the ~T readout display increases by one decimal place to
reflect the greater accuracy of waveform-based cursor meas-
urements.
NOTE
Prior to making measurements on the acquired waveform,
toggle the HOLD ON/Off switch to the ON position, to hold
the acquired waveform and provide a more stable display
for measurement.
