Stirrers for bacterial cultures in 1400 mL vessels are equipped with
four magnets as well as a centring plate.

The illustration on the left shows the lower section of a drive shaft
for cell cultures with a magnet holder and two magnets. In contrast
to the drive shaft for bacterial cultures, this drive shaft is not an-
chored in a bearing.
