7.2.8 Preparing the Port in the Vessel Top Plate for Inoculation

Procedure

The vessel top plate port must be prepared for later inoculation
with the syringe. Proceed as follows:
1. Loosen and remove the blanking plug from the 12 mm port us-
ing the hexagon socket spanner provided with the equipment.
2. Ensure there is no O-ring stuck in the port, remove as neces-
sary.
3.
Insert the septum (membrane) into the port.
4. Screw the septum collar into the port.
5.
Ensure that the blanking plug is equipped with an O-ring, fit
one as necessary.
