2. Grasp the detector by the sides. Slowly and carefully, pull the instrument out of the
shipping container and place it on a stable surface.

3. Remove the foam spacers, and then remove the polythene packaging.
4. Loosen the orange shipping locks on the bottom of the detector. These locks secure the
optics during shipment.
5. Remove the cardboard, which carries the note about the shipping locks, and keep the
cardboard with the container in which the detector was shipped. The shipping locks
must not be fastened during operation.
6. Before connecting the Before connecting the detector to the power source, wait
approximately 4 hours to allow the instrument to come to room temperature and to
allow any condensation that might have occurred during shipping to evaporate. After 4
hours, check the detector; if condensation still exists, allow the detector to continue to
warm up (without connecting it to the power source) until the condensation is
completely gone.
