5. Remove the dummy plugs on the adapter block in and out connection ports. Connect
the capillaries and route them to the outside through the slots provided in the detector
enclosure.
If you connect a stainless steel inlet capillary and if you want to route the capillary
through the slot above the flow cell, Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends guiding the
capillary through the slot as shown in figure Fig. 38.

If you connect a PEEK or Fused Silica inlet capillary and if you want to route the
capillary through the slot above the flow cell, Thermo Fisher Scientific recommends
guiding the capillary through the slot as shown in Fig. 39.
6. Close the front panel door. The firmware can detect the new flow cell only when the
door is closed
7. Perform a wavelength verification (→ page 117).
Tips: Tubing connections between the adapter block and the flow cell are installed at
the factory and should not be opened by the user.
Capillary connections between the column and flow cell should be as short as
possible to avoid peak broadening effects due to excessive dead volume.
