UltiMate 3000 Series:
VWD-3100 and VWD-3400RS Variable Wavelength Detectors
To perform wavelength verification in Chromeleon
1. Open the Commands dialog box for the detector.
2. Select WavelengthVerTest to start the verification.
To see the test result, select WavelengthVerTestResult. The test result appears also in
the Audit Trail.
3. If wavelength verification fails, perform wavelength calibration manually:
a) Verify that the deuterium lamp is turned on.
b) Open the Commands dialog box for the detector if it is not already open.
c) Select the WavelengthCalibration command.
Tips: On the control panel for the detector, click Diagnostics and execute the related
commands.
You can test and verify the wavelength accuracy also by running the
Calibration and Holmium Oxide diagnostics tests (→ page 90).
To perform wavelength verification from the front panel display
1. Show the function keys and select Menu.
2. Select Diagnostics, and then select Checks and Grating Validation.
3. Select the Validate all lines command.
4. If wavelength verification fails, perform wavelength calibration manually:
a) Verify that the deuterium lamp is turned on.
b) On the Main menu, select Diagnostics, and then select Status & Special
Functions and Grating Motor.
c) To check the Dα line, select UV spectral line calibration.
