7.4.3.3 Installing a Flow Cell (or Dummy Cell) without Adapter Block
Tip: The contacts for the flow cell identification chip are located on the rear of the
flow cell. To ensure optimum performance of the chip, be careful not to touch
the contacts.
1. Push the flow cell into the flow cell holder and tighten the flow cell screws hand-tight.
2. Connect the capillaries shipped with the flow cell to the cell if applicable.
3. Route the capillaries to the outside through the slots provided in the enclosure as required
by your application.
Tip: Capillary connections between the column and flow cell should be as short
as possible to avoid peak broadening effects due to excessive dead volume.
4. Close the front panel door. The firmware can detect the new flow cell only when the door
is closed
5. Perform a wavelength verification (→ page 117).
7.4.3.4 Installing a Flow Cell with Adapter Block
