Hybridization Protection Assay. Detects the
presence of amplified RNA product using light-

HPA Incubator. A temperature controlled
incubator where Probe and Selection steps of
the Hybridization Protection Assay (HPA) take

HPA Pipettor. Transfers Probe Reagent and
Selection Reagent from the AR Bay to the
MTU in the HPA Incubator. p. 1-20
IC. A pseudo-target, made of RNA, that
controls for all processing steps of the assay,
except for viral lysis. p. 1-20
Incubators. Four internal incubators control the
temperature of the MTUs at certain points in
