Port Information
Descriptive information about the RSTP switch port role. Role Root, Designated, Alternate,

Backup, Disabled, Unknown.
Descriptive information about the RSTP switch port state. State: Blocking, Listening,

Learning, Forwarding, Disabled, Unknown.
The cost of the path to the other bridge from this transmitting bridge at the specified port.

whether the port in question can be concerned to exactly one other bridge (that is, it is

served by a point-to-point LAN segment), or can be connected to two or more bridges (that is,
it is served by a shared medium LAN segment).
Present in implementations that support the identification of edge ports. All ports directly
connected to end stations cannot create bridging loops in the network and can thus directly

transition to forwarding, skipping the listening and learning stages. When the non-bridge
device connects an admin edge port, this port is in blocking state and turn to forwarding
state in 4 seconds.
