Determining SAS2 cable length

A compute node (2RU) and a Primary Storage Shelf (4RU) require a total

of six RUs.
A compute node (2RU), a Primary Storage Shelf (4RU), and one Expansion

Storage Shelf (4RU) require a total of ten RUs.
A compute node (2RU), a Primary Storage Shelf (4RU), and five Expansion

Storage Shelves (4RU each) require a total of 26 RUs.
An HA configuration with a compute node (2RU), a partner node (2U), a

Primary Shelf (4RU), and one Expansion Shelf (4RU) requires 12 RUs.

RUs.

Use the Rack Templates that are provided with the hardware to determine RU
locations.

Record the rack positions to help you locate them easily when mounting the
hardware.

Before you add any expansion shelves, be sure to verify that the location of the
shelf accommodates the length of the SAS2 cables. Each SAS2 cable is 1 meter
(3.28 feet) long. A 2 meter (6.56 feet) SAS2 cable is available separately. Contact
Veritas Technical Support, if needed.
