Installing a primary shelf or an expansion shelf

This chapter provides information about the installation of NetBackup 5330 Appliance
system. Each system requires one compute node and one Primary Storage Shelf.
Up to five Expansion Storage Shelves are supported.
A NetBackup 5330 High Availability (HA) configuration requires one compute node,
one partner node, and one Primary Storage Shelf. Up to five Expansion Storage
Shelves are supported.
Two HA scenarios are as follows:
New deployment for a high availability configuration
Converting existing systems to a high availability configuration
Refer to the following section for details about installing both HA scenarios.
See
"Hardware installation scenarios for a NetBackup 5330 high availability
configuration"
on page 86.
This installation procedure can be used for either storage shelf. For the systems
that include expansion shelves, install those shelves first followed by the primary
shelf.
There must be a minimum depth of 76 cm (30 in.) between the front of the rack and
the rear of the rack.
Veritas recommends that two people install the rails; one person at the back of the
rack and one at the front. Veritas also recommends that three people lift and place
the storage shelf into the mounted rails.
