Roles

This subsection describes roles and privileges.
Overview of roles
With management module console features, you can define roles with
customized privileges by giving or not giving privileges. The following table
shows privileges to set on roles.
Role type
Server blade Can operate and set server blades. Each slot has its privileges.
rKVM Can operate and set up the remote console. You can specify this privilege for each server
blade slot individually.
Switch module Can operate and set switch modules. Each slot has its privileges.
Network Can set networks.
Chassis Can operate and set server chassis.
Account Can add or delete accounts and roles.
Besides privileges above, the Read only attribute can be added to roles. With
Read only, one can only view items, not set or operate them. If you assign
the attribute "No permission to start the remote console" to a role, users
assigned that role will not be able to connect to the remote console or the OS
console of the server blades.
The system unit has an embedded role shown in the following table, which
cannot be changed or deleted.
