INTERFACE CABLES

An example of the connections of interface cables between devices within the server and external
devices is shown below.

Standard Configuration

The figure below shows an example of the connections in the standard configuration. Hard disks
are optional and must be purchased separately. The Ultra320 SCSI (B) connector uses a SCSI cable
for connection with 5.25-inch devices. The SCSI cable has four SCSI connectors. However, the
two connectors near the system board are not used.
If the external SCSI cable coming with the server is connected to the Ultra320 SCSI (B) connector,
the server can connect with external SCSI devices. However, this configuration makes it
impossible to use built-in 5.25-inch devices. The total length of the cables for connecting external
SCSI devices should be up to 3 meters, which includes the length of the internal SCSI cable, or 55
cm.
