4. With the driver's multiplex control unit still disconnected, make these input tests at the connector and fuse/relay
box socket.
• If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
• If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.

Check for voltage to ground:
(II), and shift lever
There should be less than 1 V.

Brake pedal
Check for voltage to ground:
pushed
There should be battery
voltage.
Ignition switch ON
Check for voltage to ground:
(II) and wiper
There should be battery
switch at INT
voltage.
Ignition switch ON
Check wiper motor operation:
(II), wiper switch
The wiper motor should run
OFF, jump A11 to
at low speed.

Ignition switch ON
Check for voltage to ground:
(II) and washer
There should be battery
switch ON
voltage.
Ignition switch ON
Check for voltage to ground:
(II), wiper switch in
There should be battery
the PARK position

Check for continuity to

Faulty wiper switch
An open in the wire
Blown No. 12 (30A) fuse in the
driver's under-dash fuse/relay box
Faulty intermittent wiper relay

Poor ground (G301)

Blown No. 7 (10A)
