Default Configuration
By default, the core file name has no prefix and no host name and uses the
time stamp of the switch in the core file name.

User Guidelines
The configuration parameters are not validated when this command is
entered. Use the write core test command to validate the configured
parameters and that the core dump is likely to succeed.
An average core file is around 450 MB. Example copy times are as follows:
TFTP: 13mins (different subnet)
USB: 3 mins
Administrators should ensure that a cleanly formatted USB stick of at least
1G is used for collection of a the full core dump.
Example
This example enables core dumps to a TFTP server 10.27.9.1 reachable over
the out-of-band port. The core file is written to the dumps directory and the
name includes the host name of the switch and the switch TOD.
console(config)#exception dump tftp-server 10.27.9.1 file-path dumps
console(config)#exception core-file hostname time-stamp
console(config)#exception protocol tftp

exception dump

Use this command to configure the core dump location.
Syntax
exception dump {tftp-server
no exception dump {tftp-server | file-path}
tftp-server — The IPv4 address of a TFTP server.
dir — The directory to prepend to the core file name.
