Step 5.
Rotate the power-supply cage assembly out of the chassis. Lift up the power-supply cage handle
and pull the power-supply cage assembly all the way up until the retainer latch locks the cage in
place on the chassis.

Remove the air baffle (see "Removing the air baffle" on page 147).
Step 7.
Remove the fan cage assembly (see "Removing the fan cage assembly" on page 149).
Step 8.
Note where each cable is connected; then, disconnect all cables from the system board.
Step 9.
Remove any of the following components that are installed on the system board and put them in a
safe, static-protective place:
• Adapters (see "Removing an adapter" on page 217).
• Microprocessor and heat sink (see "Removing the microprocessor and heat sink" on page 187).
• DIMMs (see "Removing a memory module" on page 209).
• Battery (see "Removing the battery" on page 157).
Step 10. Rotate the release lever toward the rear of the chassis.
Step 11. Slide the system board toward the front of the server to disengage the tabs from the chassis; then,
grasp the handles and carefully lift the system board out of the server.
