ASSEMBLY ANO INSTALLATION - 140 (COUNTER ROTATION)
Propeller Shaft and Bearing Housing
• Assemble the propeller shaft and bearing housing in the
following sequence:
•wiRG~ Triple Guard grease
•GearOILJ
ULTRA HPF gearcase lubricant
(a) Apply Triple Guard grease to O-ring
CD,
then install the
O-ring into the groove on the propeller shaft bearing
housing.
(b) lnstall shim

bearing washer @, propeller shaft thrust
bearing @, propeller shaft thrust washer

into oropel­
ler shaft bearing housing @.
Forward Gear
(e) lnstall forward gear back-up shim
( ! ),
forward gear
thrust washer @, forward gear thrust bearing
®
and tor­
ward gear
®
to propeller shaft bearing housing.
(d) Slide propeller shaft
®
into forward gear and propeller
shaft bearing housing.
(e) Assemble horizontal slider
©
to connector pin.
(f) Coat forward gear teeth with Gear Marking Compound.
