LOWER UNIT
ASSEMBLY ANO INSTALLATION - 90/115
Pinion Nut
Apply Nut Lock to threads of pinion nut. Thread nut onto
driveshaft. DO NOT turn shaft to install nut. Then tighten nut
to specified torque.
~ Pinion nut: 100 N-m (10.0 kg-m; 72.5 lb-ft)

Propeller Shaft
1. Slide clutch dog shifter ~ onto propeller shaft

NOTE:
For corree! installation, side of c/utch dog shifter whicb
should face towards reverse gear is marked with letter "R".
2. lnsert connector pin @ into propeller shaft.
3. Align holes in clutch dog shifter
®
and connector pin @,
then slide dog pin @through them.
4. lnstall dog spring @, ensuring that it fits snugly into
groove on clutch dog shifter.
Forward Gear Back-up Shim Adjustment
lnstall forward gear propeller shaft thrust washer onto propel­
ler shaft. Use Needle Bearing Assembly Grease to hold
washer on shaft.
lnsert propeller shaft assembly into forward gear.
Using Special Tools, install propeller shaft bearing housing
assembly into gearcase.

When housing is fully seated, install and tighten two bolts to
specified torque.
~ Bearing Housing bolt: 20 N,m (2.0 kg-m; 14.5 lb-ft)
