POWER UNIT
CYLINDER / CRANKSHAFT / PISTON
CRANKSHAFT TO CVLINDER
1. lnstall crankshaft main bearings in cylinder and crank­
case.
2. Apply engine oil to bearings.
IACAUTION
1
• Assemble each bearing to its original position.
• Assemble main bearing half containing oil groove /
hole to cylinder block. Assemble the half without oil
groove to crankcase.
• Do not apply oil between crank bearing holder and
crank main bearing.
NOTE:
A/ign bearing tab @ with notch in cylinder and crankcase.
Thrust bearing
Apply engine oil to thrust bearing and install in cylinder block
between the No. 3 and No. 4 cylinders. Oil groove sides of
thrust bearing should tace towards crank webs.
Crankshaft
1. Apply engine oil to upper oil seal lip.
2. lnstall upper oil seal to crankshaft.
IACAUTION
1
Do not reuse oil seal once removed. Always use a new
oil seal.
NOTE:
Insta// upper oil sea/ with its spring / lipped side facing
inward.
3. Apply engine oil to crank pin and crankshaft main journal
and install crankshaft in cylinder.
NOTE:
When insta/ling crankshaft to cylinder, be sure to fit tab of
sea/ in groove of cylinder.
