REMOVAL ANO DISASSEMBLY-140 (COUNTER ROTATION)
1 O. Remove two bolts

securing propeller shaft bearing
housing to gearcase.
AWARNING
Shift rod must be removed before removing propeller
shaft and bearing housing.
11. Using special tools, remove propeller shaft, forward gear
and bearing housing assembly.

12. Hold pinion nut securely, then fit special tool to the drive­
shaft and loosen pinion nut.

13. Remove four bolts

securing driveshaft oil seal housing

then remove oil seal housing and pinion shim @.
14. Lift out driveshaft assembly @.
Remove driveshaft collar@, washer
@,
wave washer ( / ),
washer (with tab)@ and washer
®
from driveshaft.
