ASSEMBLY ANO INSTALLATION - 90/115
Oriveshaft Shimming
1. Assemble driveshaft and pinion. Torque pinion nut to 100
N-m (10.0 kg-m; 72.5 lb-tt)
2. Place the driveshaft assembly in the shimming fixture.

3. While rotating the driveshaft, tighten fixture preload
screw until pin groove

is flush with threads. Tighten pin
locking ring.
4. Use Gauge Bar, PIN 351049, to measure driveshaft
assembly.
• Check flatness of bearing housing mounting surface.
Variance < 0.004 in (0.10 mm).
• Check pinion runout. Variance

0.002 in (0.050 mm)
5. Measure clearance between gauge bar and pinion tace.
• Your measurement equals your shim selection.
6. Select your pinion shim from Shim Kit, P/N 5030975. Use
only one or two shims.
7. lnstall selected shim and check for zero clearance.
