Silent Agent Installation

Overview

This appendix describes the procedure for installing the Nortel Quality
Monitoring Agent using a batch file rather than an installation wizard.
To install the Agent interactively, with the help of an installation wizard, see
"Nortel Quality Monitoring Agent Installation," on page 89.
The Agent installation is a basic MSI Windows installer package developed
with InstallShield Developer 8.0 sp2.
The MSI file generated is a version 2.0 schema which requires that the
Windows Installer version 2.0 engine be installed on the system. This engine
is included in the Agent installation file 'setup.exe'. Running the MSI file
from 'setup.exe' is not required, but if you choose to run it from 'setup.exe'
the v2.0 engine will be installed automatically if required.
To run the Agent silent install, follow these steps:
1 Copy the Agent folder from the Nortel Quality Monitoring CD to a local or
remote shared disk to which each Agent computer has read/write
access.
2 Create a batch file such as the ones shown in "Command Line
Examples," on page 142.
3 Run the batch file to perform the silent install.
