Checks

Check the connection of J7 to
the tray control PBA.

Connect the + to J7-1 and the –
to J7-2 on the tray control
PBA. Does the voltage change
to approximately 24 V, when
the stapler swings?
Disconnect J7 from the tray
controller PBA. Is the resist-
ance between J7-10 and J7-11
on the harness side about 20
ohm?

Connect the + to J7-11 and the
– to J7-10 on the tray control
PBA. Does the voltage change
to approximately 24 V?

Set the meter to the DC range.
Connect the + to J7-3 and the –
to J7-4 on the tray control
PBA. Is the voltage approxi-
mately 5 V?

Set the meter to the DC range.
Connect the + to J7-8 and the –
to J7-7 on the tray control
PBA. Is the voltage approxi-
mately 5 V?

Improve the connection.

Replace motor M5.

Check the wiring to the
stapler position sensor
PI4. If undamaged,
replace the sensor.
