Universal Joint Inspection

Inspect the play by turning the universal joint. If
excessive play is noted, replace it with a new one.
CAUTION
!
Do not attempt to disassemble the universal
joint.

Rear Wheel Dumper Removal and Installation

Removal
1) Remove the rear wheel assembly. Refer to "Rear
Wheel Assembly Removal and Installation in Section
2D (Page 2D-11)".
2) Flatten the lock washers.
3) Remove the bolts, washers and plates.
4) Remove the driven hub joint (1) with the special tool
and wooden block.
Special tool
(A): 09913–50121 (Oil seal remover)

Installation
Install the wheel damper in the reverse order of removal.
Pay attention to the following points:
• Install the wheel dumpers.

Drive Chain / Drive Train / Drive Shaft:
5) Remove the O-ring (2).
6) Remove the dumpers with a screw driver.
NOTE
If soap water is applied around the dumper, it
makes the job easier.
