Rear Cam Chain Drive Sprocket
• Install the rear cam chain drive sprocket (1) onto the
crankshaft.
CAUTION
!
When installing the rear cam chain drive
sprocket, align the wide spline teeth "A" and
"B".

• Temporarily tighten the rear cam chain drive sprocket
bolt (2).
Rear Cam Chain Idler Sprocket
• Turn the crankshaft counterclockwise with the box
wrench and align "R I T" line "A" on the crankshaft with
the index marks "B" of the upper crankcase hole.
CAUTION
!
To adjust the camshaft timing correctly, be
sure to align "R I T" line "A" with the index
marks "B" and hold this position when
installing the cam chain idler sprockets, front
and rear.

• Engage the cam chain No. 1 (1) and No. 2 (2) onto the
rear cam chain idler sprocket (3) and install it to the
upper crankcase.
• Pass the cam chain No. 1 (1) between the rear cam
drive idler sprocket (3) and rear cam chain drive
sprocket (4).
• Align the groove "C" on the rear cam chain idler
sprocket with the embossed line "D" on the upper
crankcase.
